Wow! Summer is almost over. It is hard to realize this since I having not been doing what I usually do in the summer.
Thank you to all that have returned the March concert music! For those still have music, please take it to Rich or John at Music Mart or leave it in my back door at 3523 6th Place NW - Rochester.
The Board meet on Thursday evening to get an update of what it happening in the music communities. Lourdes High School is keeping us in their plans, but cannot accommodate us at this time. It sounds like RCTC will not be having a concert band this semester. Tony is working hard at Kasson-Mantorville to get ready for the start of school. They are working on having the kids wear surgical masks with a hole in the center to fit the mouth piece of their instrument. They have purchased special material and the some of the mothers will be sewing covers for the bell of the instruments. There will be a limit of the number of students in the room and the amount of time that they can practice before the room needs to be cleaned. Instruments will be left at school.
We are still on hold for rehearsals at this time, but the Board will meet again Thursday, September 24th, at 7:00 pm to get another update. Stay in touch with your fellow band members. This is a good time to sign into the Rochester Community Band web page and add your phone number and check your email address so they can contact you and load a picture of yourself. Go to “Members” in the top right-hand corner to sign in. Also, if you want to create any contents for the page, just do so and send it to me to add.
I am looking forward to the day that we can have rehearsal! Take care! Jill
